The tennis season is here!
Spring has well and truly sprung with our grass courts opening today! These are now bookable on ClubSpark for members and Pay & Play players.
Play on the grass is very much weather dependent. If you’re ever unsure whether the courts are playable please send us an email beforehand. If we need to cancel any bookings due to the weather we will aim to book you an artificial grass court instead (wherever possible).
Please ensure you wear suitable footwear - Omni shoes are a good option as they also work well on the artificial courts. The grass courts will open 11:00 / midday depending on the day and close at dusk.
Interested in playing some team tennis for CourtX? We currently have 10 teams playing for the club so there is opportunity for different standards and ages. Please contact us here and we can put you in touch with the team captains.
Prefer singles to doubles? Why not try our club ladder league! We offer adult tennis members the opportunity to play friendly singles matches against other members through our club singles ladder.
The concept of this ladder allows you to join at any point, play as much or as little as you want and take a break or leave when required. It’s extremely flexible.
The ladder is accessed through a free app called Sportch (available on Android and IOS).
After signing up, you will be placed in dynamic zones of 5 within the overall ladder. Your starting position is based on how you self-assessed yourself during registration and your position will change as and when results are submitted.
How to join
- Download the free Sportch app from your app store.
- Open the app and tap Sign Up
- During registration ensure to select CourtX and opt to play in the club ladder
- You’re done and ready to play
The app allows you to easily contact opponents to arrange matches, record results and view rankings and results in real time. The ladder competition is very flexible and open to all adult members. It doesn’t matter what level you play at or how often you can play. This is a great way to meet and play with players of a similar standard, enjoy some friendly competition and (hopefully) improve your tennis!
You can pause your participation in the ladder at any time from within your account. If you’re unable to play for whatever reason please mark your profile as inactive.
