Code of Conduct

Introduction

The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that all members, players, visitors, and staff behave in a respectful, safe, and sportsmanlike manner that reflects positively on the club. All participants in tennis at CourtX must adhere to the LTA Code of Conduct, both on and off the court, at club premises, and during club-organized events and matches.

Standards of Conduct

All members, players, and visitors must abide by the following:

  • Respect Others: Treat fellow members, opponents, officials, staff, and visitors with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

  • Sportsmanship: Abide by the rules of tennis as specified by the LTA Code of Conduct, avoid unsportsmanlike behaviour, and accept decisions made by referees or match officials without protest.

  • Inclusivity: Refrain from discriminatory behaviour on the grounds of race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic.

  • Safety and Fair Play: Avoid actions or behaviour that could endanger others or disrupt games.

  • Respect Facilities: Use club facilities responsibly, ensuring cleanliness and care for equipment and property.

Prohibited Behaviour

The following actions are deemed breaches of the code:

  • Abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour, whether verbal, physical, or written.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, including cheating or deliberate disruptions.

  • Intoxication through alcohol or drugs while on club premises or during club activities.

  • Damage to club property, facilities or equipment (including racquets).

  • Discrimination, bullying, or harassment of any kind.

  • Non-compliance with club rules, policies, or instructions from staff or officials.

Reporting a Breach

  • Complaints about breaches of the code should be submitted in writing to the CourtX Manager or another designated official within a week of any incident.

  • Complaints must include details of the incident, including date, time, location, and any witnesses.

Disciplinary Procedures

When a breach is reported:

  • Initial Review:

The CourtX Management will review the complaint and gather necessary evidence.

  • Hearing:

If required, the member involved may be invited to a disciplinary hearing to explain their actions.

  • Decisions:

The CourtX Management will take actions including:

  • A verbal or written warning.

  • Suspension from the club for a defined period.

  • Expulsion from the club in severe cases.

  • Referral to the appropriate league committee if disputes are not settled, particularly in relation to team/match play activity.

Appeals Process

  • Any member subject to disciplinary action may appeal in writing to the CourtX CEO within 14 days of the decision.

  • The appeal will be reviewed and the decision of CourtX will be final.

Commitment to Improvement

  • CourtX will comply with the LTA Code of Conduct to ensure it reflects best practices and complies with relevant laws and governing body regulations.

Acknowledgment

By joining the club, members agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and accept the club’s authority to enforce it.
