About Jack Tyzack-Smith
Jack is a 32 year old freelance travel and events photographer, based in Hampshire.
Jack started his photography journey in-front of the camera working as a full-time model in his early 20s, after doing that for two years, Jack stepped behind the camera, learning the basics and working in a studio environment. It required honing his technical skills, learning about the specific requirements of e-commerce platforms, and adapting to the fast-paced demands of product photography. During the 7 years of working as a product photographer, Jack took on a number of different freelance jobs. Such as architecture, sport, hospitality, weddings, events and landscape. In 2022 Jack decided to go full-time freelance, and also launched the print website House Of Prints.
Jack’s biggest artistic influences have to be, Slim Aarons, Riley Harper and Natalie Obradovich. Sharing that ‘they have such an amazing eye for capturing locations and people around the world so elegantly, with a raw and authentic feel to them.’
Artwork on display
The Jurassic Coast Collection was photographed in 2020, as the lockdown rules were slowly starting to open up. Jack and a good friend of his decided to get up at 4am, and make the drive down to Lulworth. Describing the day, Jack shares 'the solitude of the early hour allows a deeper connection with the surroundings, as the sun ascends, the landscape transforms. It is incredibly peaceful at that time of day’.
We asked Jack what his favourite artwork is on display;
‘My favourite work is the photo of the clay tennis court in Lake Como, it appeals to me because not only am I a huge tennis fan, but it captures a perfect blend of nature and human activity.
The contrast between the orderly tennis court and the rugged mountains creates a narrative of leisure and escapism, as well as natural beauty.’
